About

We are a group of Critical Care and Oncology clinicians based at Sinai Health Network and Princess Margaret Cancer Center in Toronto, Canada. COIN was created with the goal of providing excellent, evidence-based care to patients with cancer who become critically ill. As the interface of critical care and oncology continues to develop, we aim to be a major contributor to the evidence base for providing the best care possible to these complex patients.

Our Mission

Our primary mission is to improve care for patients with cancer who develop critical illness due to their treatment or underlying disease. This initiative has three central pillars: 1) Research; 2) Education; 3) Quality Improvement, which are integral components of optimizing career for these complex patients.
